Who Is This Tour For?

Extreme Canyoning is designed for adventurers who want Croatia's most technically challenging canyon experience. You don't need abseiling or canyoning experience — your guides rig every descent and are with you every step. What you do need: comfort with heights, moderate fitness, and a willingness to push yourself. The 60-metre Gubavica abseil is a serious commitment. If you have any significant fear of heights, the Basic Canyoning tour (€50, jumps up to 3m, no abseiling) is a better fit.

⚠️
Not suitable if afraid of heights The Extreme tour includes a 60m abseil and 9m cliff jumps. If heights are a concern, try our Basic Canyoning tour instead — same canyon, no abseiling, jumps up to 3m.

The main abseil at the Great Gubavica waterfall is 60 metres — a full guided rappel descent. There is a second abseil of 25 metres later in the canyon. Both are rigged entirely by your certified guide. You are attached to the rope throughout and your guide is always in position to assist.
No prior experience is required. Your certified guides handle all technical setup for the abseils and cliff jumps. Before entering the canyon, you receive a full safety briefing and equipment fitting. What you do need is comfort with heights and a reasonable level of physical fitness.
Yes. All guides are fully licensed and hold valid Croatian canyoning certifications and first-aid qualifications. All equipment — ropes, harnesses, helmets, wetsuits and lifejackets — is EU-registered and certified. Full insurance is included in the price. Malduk Adventures has operated this canyon route since 2014, guiding over 2,000 guests. Tours may be cancelled or modified at short notice due to weather or river conditions, with a full refund or reschedule offered.
Extreme canyoning is not recommended for anyone with a significant fear of heights. The tour includes a 60-metre abseil and cliff jumps up to 9m — both require genuine comfort with height exposure. If you have any hesitation about heights, the Basic Canyoning tour (€50, no abseiling, jumps up to 3m) is a better fit and still offers a spectacular canyon experience.
Basic Canyoning (€50, age 8+) involves hiking, swimming, scrambling and optional jumps up to 3m — no abseiling. It's designed for beginners, families and mixed-ability groups. Extreme Canyoning (€70, age 10+) adds two technical abseils (60m and 25m) and higher cliff jumps of 5m, 7m and 9m. Both run the same Cetina Canyon route. Neither requires prior experience, but the extreme tour suits those comfortable with significant heights.
The meeting point at Zadvarje is approximately 35km from Split — around 40 minutes by car via the A1 motorway (exit Šestanovac). Organised daily transfers from Split, Omiš and Makarska are available and can be added at checkout. Transfer duration is approximately 30 minutes one-way.
The €70 price includes all technical canyoning equipment (wetsuit, lifejacket, helmet, ropes and harness — EU-certified), a certified guide, full tour insurance, free professional photos and video of your experience, and free parking at the Zadvarje meeting point. Canyoning shoes can be rented on-site for €7 if needed.
The minimum age is 10 years, subject to guide assessment on the day. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The tour requires genuine comfort with heights and an active physical challenge. For children under 10 or those who prefer no abseiling, the Basic Canyoning tour (age 8+) is the recommended alternative.
