What Is Extreme Canyoning in Omiš?
Extreme canyoning in Omiš means descending the Cetina River Canyon on foot — rappelling down waterfalls, jumping into emerald pools, and scrambling through narrow gorges carved 150 metres deep into the Dalmatian limestone. It is one of the few places in Croatia where you can combine technical rope work with natural swimming in a single half-day trip. Malduk Adventures has guided canyoning trips in this canyon since 2019. All equipment — wetsuit, helmet, harness, and neoprene shoes — is included.
The Route: Cetina River Canyon
The standard extreme canyoning route with Malduk Adventures covers approximately 2.5 kilometres of active canyon and takes 3–4 hours in the water. The route includes:
- 2 abseils, with the longest drop at 60 metres
- 5 natural jump points ranging from 3 to 8 metres
- lots of canyon swimming sections through passages too narrow to walk
- 1 underground cave passage lit by headlamps
Difficulty: Moderate (participants must be comfortable in water and able to follow guide instructions under pressure)
