From 2027 the package is bed & breakfast only: four breakfasts included, evening meals not. Dinner can be added on request for an additional cost. The two remaining September 2026 departures still include four breakfasts and four dinners, as originally sold. Omiš has a good range of restaurants within walking distance of both accommodation options.

Yes for canyoning — basic swimming ability is mandatory and non-swimmers cannot take part in that activity. Rafting and kayaking are possible for non-swimmers in a buoyancy aid with a guide, but tell us at booking so we can plan the group properly.

No. Every activity starts with a full briefing and technique instruction from your guide, and all three are run at beginner level. Canyoning is the only day that asks for a reasonable level of general fitness — roughly the ability to walk and swim for three to four hours with breaks.

Split Airport (SPU) — about 50 km and an hour from Omiš. Zadar is roughly 140 km away and Dubrovnik roughly 230 km, both workable but longer. From Split Airport the shuttle bus into Split costs around €8 per person, and we meet you at our Split meeting point from there. Airport transfers are not included in the package; a private transfer can be arranged on request.

The 5-day trip is four nights and three activities — rafting, canyoning and kayaking. The 7-day trip is six nights and five activities, adding hiking and further coastal days, with more recovery time between the hard days. Both are based in Omiš, both move to bed & breakfast from 2027, and both use the same guides and the same group sizes.

Yes, and solo bookings are common. You join the same small group, and we pair you in a twin room with another solo guest of the same gender where possible. If no share is available a single supplement applies — we check this and confirm before the final balance is due, not at the point of booking.

In a 3★ beachside hotel or a 3★ private apartment in Omiš — your preference confirmed at booking, subject to availability, so book early for a wider choice. On 2027 departures you can upgrade to a 4★ hotel with the family-run Hotel Plaža group in Omiš or Duće for a supplement.

Yes — we collect you from your accommodation and return you there for all three activity days. Airport transfers and any activities outside the package are not included. You don't need a hire car for this trip.

Your guide makes the call each morning, based mainly on river level rather than rain — light rain rarely stops anything, and you're getting wet anyway. If an activity can't run safely we move it to another day of your trip where possible, or substitute an alternative of equivalent value. If neither works, that activity is refunded.

A 10% deposit secures your place. The balance is due 15 days before departure, and cancellation is free up to 14 days before the trip start date. If we cancel a departure, you receive a 100% refund of everything paid.

Maximum 12 guests with 2 guides — one guide per eight guests. A minimum of 2 guests is needed for a departure to run. For larger groups we run private departures on custom dates; contact us for a quote.

Yes. This exact trip — same operator, same guides, same itinerary — is resold by international adventure marketplaces with a booking commission added on top. Booking direct removes that layer, typically 10–20% on a like-for-like 2027 departure. You also deal with the people actually running the trip rather than a call centre.

Five days is the practical minimum for a multi-activity trip — four nights, three activity days, and no time lost to hotel changes. Under that you're doing day tours from a city base rather than a holiday. Seven days is the comfortable version: it adds hiking, more coastal time and a rest day between the harder activities, and it's what we'd recommend for anyone flying long-haul.

It is a real adventure activity with real hazards, run under conditions designed for them. Nobody moves through the canyon unguided, every guest wears a certified wetsuit, helmet and harness, the ratio is one guide per eight guests, and the activity is rerouted or stopped when water levels make it unsafe. Basic swimming ability is mandatory. The main risk factor is booking with an operator that skips the briefing or the equipment, not the canyon itself.

HGSS is the Hrvatska gorska služba spašavanja, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service — the national body responsible for rescue in mountains, canyons and caves. A guide registered with HGSS is trained to the standard of the people who would carry out an actual rescue in that terrain. For rafting specifically, the relevant qualification is International Rafting Federation (IRF) guide certification.

Commercial rafting guiding in Croatia is a licensed activity, and reputable operators hold International Rafting Federation (IRF) certification. Our rafting guides are IRF-certified and our team is HGSS-registered. Any operator that can't tell you which certifications its guides hold is worth avoiding.

Yes — booking the local operator directly. US-based premium operators typically price a comparable Dalmatian multisport week at several thousand dollars per person, largely because they layer international guides, upscale hotels and a US-based support structure on top of a locally run product. Our 5-day trip is €570 to €830 per person for 2027 with the same rivers, the same canyon and local guides. The trade-offs are simpler accommodation and no international tour leader.

Direct is cheaper. Adventure marketplaces and agencies resell trips run by local operators and add a booking commission, typically 10–20%. The itinerary, the guides and the operator are identical. Booking direct also means the people answering your questions are the people running the trip.

Yes, and over-50s are a regular part of our groups. Rafting and kayaking are easy days; canyoning is the demanding one, at three to four hours of walking and swimming with breaks, and the basic route can be taken instead of the extreme one. There is no upper age limit — mobility and swimming ability matter more than age. If you'd prefer rest days between activities, the 7-day trip is the better fit.

April and May for the biggest water — the Cetina runs Class II–III in spring high water, which makes for the liveliest rafting of the year, though the water is cold. June and September give warm air, a still-lively river and quiet conditions. July and August have the lowest river level, so rafting is gentler and more of a float-and-swim day, but the sea is at its warmest.

For an active holiday, yes. Omiš sits at the mouth of the Cetina gorge, so the rafting, canyoning and sea kayaking are all within 25 minutes, against roughly an hour each way from Split. It's a working Dalmatian town with a fortress, a long sandy beach next door and local restaurant prices. It is not a nightlife destination and its old town is small — if that matters, add nights in Split either side.
