Croatia Adventure Holidays — FAQ
For 2027, the 5-day holiday costs €590–€918 per person, depending on month, 3★ or 4★ hotel and B&B or half board, and the 7-day €730–€1,222, sharing a twin or double. That covers accommodation with breakfast, every guided activity, equipment, activity transfers and trip insurance. Flights and airport transfers are extra. Comparable trips from international operators run from about $1,150 to over $5,000.
Yes. Both trips let you choose basic or extreme canyoning at the day-one briefing, and the group splits so friends can do different routes. Basic is swimming, slides and low jumps with no ropework. Extreme adds two abseils — including 60 metres beside the Great Gubavica waterfall — and jumps up to 9 metres. Minimum age is 10 for basic, 12 for extreme.
A 10% deposit confirms your booking; the 90% balance is due 15 days before arrival. Cancel 14 or more days out for a full refund, deposit included — inside 14 days, payments are non-refundable. Date changes are free more than 14 days out. Weather moves an activity to another day rather than cancelling it; anything that can't run at all is refunded in full.
May, June and September. You get warm weather, good river levels and far fewer people than in July and August. September is the pick: the sea is still warm and crowds thin out after the first week. Peak summer has brilliant conditions but is busy and hot inland.
Five to seven. The 5-day trip packs rafting, canyoning and sea kayaking into three consecutive activity days — right for a long weekend. The 7-day adds hiking, a zipline and two free afternoons, including Split's old town. Both offer basic or extreme canyoning, and both keep you in one base in Omiš.
Central Dalmatia — Omiš and the Cetina River. Whitewater rafting, canyoning, Adriatic sea kayaking and mountain hiking are all within an hour of Split Airport. It's quieter than Dubrovnik, more active than the islands, and the only place in Croatia where river, canyon, sea and mountain share a single base.
In Omiš for the whole trip. Rooms are in locally owned guesthouses: twin or double, private bathroom, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi, walking distance to the beach. Solo travellers get their own room (supplement from €100). The two women-only trips stay at the 4★ Hotel Plaža Omiš.
From 2027, breakfast daily. Dinners at local restaurants can be added when you book; remaining 2026 departures keep breakfast and dinner as sold. Lunch isn't included — on activity days you're on the water at midday, so we carry water. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal diets are catered for with notice.
Yes. Every activity suits complete beginners and starts with a full briefing from an HGSS-certified guide. Canyoning has a basic route with no ropework, and groups are capped at 12 so nobody is left behind. You need reasonable fitness for three to five active days and a moderate uphill walk.
Moderately fit. If you can walk for three hours over uneven ground and swim confidently in open water, you'll manage both trips. Canyoning involves scrambling and swimming; the 7-day hike is a steady climb, not technical. Guides set the pace to the group, and every jump has an easier option.
We provide all technical kit: EU-certified wetsuits, helmets, buoyancy aids, harnesses and paddles. Bring clothes you can move in, trainers you don't mind getting wet, swimwear, a day bag, reef-safe sun cream and a hat. Separate travel insurance covering cancellation and adventure activities is strongly recommended.
About 2 to 2.5 hours to Split Airport (SPU). Direct flights run from London Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and Leeds Bradford with easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2, British Airways and TUI. Most UK travellers reach Omiš in under six hours door to door.
Croatia is mid-range — generally cheaper than Italy, France or the UK. Our packages put accommodation with breakfast, activities, equipment and activity transfers in one price, so there are no surprise extras on arrival. Booking direct rather than through an agency typically saves 15–20% on the same trip.
Yes — two five-day trips from Omiš, hosted by two local women, Eva and Marinela. Kayak, Raft & Canyon is the adrenaline one. Kayak, Hike & Sail adds coastal hiking and a private half-day sail to Brač, capped at six. Both stay four nights B&B at the 4★ Hotel Plaža Omiš and suit solo travellers.
Split — specifically Omiš, just south of it. The Cetina River and Dalmatian mountains are within 30 minutes, so rafting, canyoning, kayaking and hiking are on the doorstep. Dubrovnik is spectacular but has far fewer adventure options, costs more and is much more crowded in summer.
Yes, seasonally. United flies nonstop from Newark (EWR) to Split in about 8 hours 45 minutes, three times a week from late April to early September. Otherwise, connect through Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Paris or Istanbul — 12 to 16 hours from the East Coast, 18 to 20 from the West. Fly into Split, not Dubrovnik, which is three hours from Omiš.
No visa is needed for stays up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Since October 2025 the EU Entry/Exit System takes fingerprints and a photo at the border, so allow extra time. ETIAS — a €20 online authorisation valid three years, free under 18 and over 70 — is due to start in late 2026. Apply only through the official EU portal.
