How our prices compare to international operators
The same activities, in the same region, sold by companies based thousands of kilometres away. We're the local operator — the guides you meet on day one are the people who own the business, and there's no tour operator sitting in between taking a cut.
Competitor prices are the published lead-in rates for comparable Croatia multi-activity trips at the time of writing and are shown for context only — check their sites for current pricing. Booking direct with us typically saves 15–20% against the same trip sold through an agency.
Deposit, Balance and Cancellation Policy
The full terms in four numbers, so you know exactly where you stand before you pay anything.
A 10% deposit confirms your booking and the remaining 90% is due 15 days before arrival. Cancel 14 or more days before arrival and you are refunded in full, deposit included; inside 14 days the deposit and balance are non-refundable, which is why we recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation and adventure activities. Date changes are free more than 14 days out, subject to availability. Weather is handled by rescheduling, not cancelling — if river levels, sea state or the forecast make one activity unsafe on its scheduled day, we move it to another day of your trip or swap in a comparable one, so nothing is dropped. In the rare case an activity cannot be run or replaced at all during your stay, that activity is refunded in full.

5-Day vs 7-Day: Which Trip Suits You?
Both trips run from the same base with the same guides, and both offer the same choice of canyoning route. The difference is pace, breadth, and how much of the week is spoken for. Here's the honest comparison, including who should pick the other one.
| Compare | 5-Day Adventure Holiday | 7-Day Multisport Adventure |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 5 days / 4 nights | 7 days / 6 nights |
| Adventure days | 3 (rafting, canyoning, kayaking) | 5 (adds mountain hiking and zipline) |
| Free time | Arrival evening and departure morning only | Two free afternoons, including Split old town |
| Price from | €600 per person | €800 per person |

| Canyoning route Same on both | Basic or extreme (60m Gubavica abseil), your choice | Basic or extreme (60m Gubavica abseil), your choice |
| Best for | Long weekends, tight annual leave, first-timers testing the water | A full holiday week, groups of friends, anyone who wants to see the mountains as well as the river |
| Typical guest | Couples on a short break, solo travellers adding it to a Croatia trip | Groups of 4–8, couples with a full week, repeat guests |
Book the 5-day if…
You've got a long weekend rather than a full week, or you're already travelling in Croatia and want to bolt on a concentrated block of adventure. You still get the choice between basic and extreme canyoning, so nothing is watered down. Three consecutive activity days is genuinely tiring, but it's the most adventure per day of anything we run. Skip it if you want downtime — there isn't any.
Book the 7-day if…
You want the mountains as well as the river, or you're travelling as a group and want space in the week for a slow lunch and an afternoon in Split. It's the better-paced trip and the one most guests say they'd repeat. Skip it if your leave is tight — you'll get most of the highlights from the 5-day.
Full Itineraries — What Happens Each Day
Every activity, where it happens, roughly how long it takes, where you sleep and which meals are included. Tap a trip to open the full day-by-day breakdown.
Arrival and welcome dinner
We collect you from Split Airport or your Split accommodation and drive the coast road south to Omiš — about 30 minutes with the Adriatic on one side and the Dinaric wall on the other. You check in, get an hour or two to swim or walk into the old town, then meet the group and your guides over dinner. We run through the week, take canyoning-route preferences (basic or extreme), check kit sizes and answer the questions everyone has about the canyoning day.
Rafting the Cetina River
The classic Cetina descent through the canyon — grade II–III water, so it's genuinely fun without being frightening, and no experience is needed. You'll paddle through the gorge, stop to swim under a waterfall, and there's a cliff jump for anyone who wants it. Guides give a full safety brief and paddle instruction before you get on the water, and every raft has a guide in it. Afternoon back in Omiš is yours.
Canyoning — basic or extreme, your choice
The same 2.5km canyon, two ways. Basic is swimming through pools, scrambling over polished limestone, sliding natural chutes and jumping from ledges at whatever height you're comfortable with — no ropework, and no experience needed. Extreme adds two abseils, including a 60-metre descent beside the Great Gubavica waterfall, plus jumps up to nine metres. You choose on day one and the group splits, so everyone gets the day they actually want. Wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids are provided and fitted before you set off, guides carry throwbags and a first-aid kit, and the group stays together the whole way. Minimum age is 10 for the basic route and 12 for extreme.
Sea kayaking and snorkelling on the Adriatic
Out of Omiš by kayak, along the cliffs to beaches and coves you can't reach on foot or by car. We stop to snorkel — the water off this stretch is clear enough to see the bottom at ten metres — and pull in somewhere quiet for a swim. Double kayaks are standard, so nobody gets left behind, and it's a genuinely easy paddle unless the wind is up. Final dinner with the group in the evening.
Departure
Breakfast, then we drive you back to Split Airport or into the city, timed around your flight. If you're staying on in Croatia, we'll happily point you at where to go next — most guests carry on to the islands or up the coast toward Zadar.
Order of activities can shift depending on river level, sea state and weather. Nothing gets dropped — days get swapped.
Book the 5-day tour →Arrival and welcome dinner
Airport pickup and the 30-minute coast drive to Omiš. Check in, swim, then dinner with the group and the guides. We go through the week, take canyoning-route preferences (basic or extreme) and sort equipment sizes so nothing eats into day two.
Rafting the Cetina River
Grade II–III whitewater through the Cetina canyon, roughly 11km and about three hours on the water, with swim stops and an optional cliff jump. Full brief and paddle technique before launch; a guide in every raft. It's the gentlest of the five adventure days and a good way to get the group talking.
Canyoning — basic or extreme, your choice
The same 2.5km canyon either way. Basic is swimming, scrambling, natural slides and optional low jumps — no ropework, and no experience needed. Extreme adds two abseils, including a 60-metre descent beside the Great Gubavica waterfall, plus jumps up to nine metres. You choose on day one, and the group splits so everyone gets the day they actually want. Minimum age is 10 for the basic route and 12 for extreme.
Sea kayaking and snorkelling
Paddle out of the Cetina mouth and along the cliffs to coves that have no road access. Snorkelling gear comes with you and we stop wherever the water looks best. Double kayaks, easy pace, and a long swim stop halfway. Afternoon free — most people sleep, some walk up to the Mirabela fortress above town.
Mountain hiking above Omiš
A guided trek up into the limestone behind town, on old shepherds' paths most visitors never find. The reward is the view back down over the Cetina mouth, the town and the islands strung out on the horizon. Moderate effort — a steady climb rather than anything technical — and we set off early to beat the heat.
Zipline over the Cetina canyon, then Split
Morning on the zipline — a series of wires strung across the canyon, with the river a long way below and no skill required beyond the willingness to step off. Afternoon in Split: Diocletian's Palace, the Riva, and a last swim if there's time. Farewell dinner back in Omiš.
Departure
Breakfast and transfer back to Split Airport or the city centre, timed to your flight. Late flight? Leave your bags with us and spend the day on the beach.
The running order flexes with river level, sea state and forecast. Activities get swapped between days rather than cancelled.
Book the 7-day tour →Accommodation & Food on a Multi-Day Trip
You stay in one place for the whole trip. No packing and repacking, no 6am coach transfers, no waking up unsure which town you're in.
Every multi-day holiday is based in Omiš, the small coastal town at the mouth of the Cetina, 25km south of Split. Our base is at Put Svetog Stipana 2, Borak, Omiš. All accommodation is locally owned — family-run guesthouses and small apartment buildings rather than chain hotels — and everything is within walking distance of the beach, the old town and the restaurants we eat in.
Rooms are twin or double, each with a private bathroom, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Solo travellers are placed in their own room; there's a single-occupancy supplement from €100 for the trip. If you're travelling as a group of four or more, tell us and we'll try to put you in the same building.
What half-board actually means
For the 2026 season, breakfast and dinner are included every day. Breakfast is served where you're staying. Dinner is at handpicked local restaurants in and around Omiš — the ones we eat in ourselves, not the ones on the tourist strip. Expect fresh Adriatic fish, peka (meat and vegetables slow-cooked under an iron bell), grilled lamb from the hinterland, and vegetables from the Cetina valley.
Lunch is not included. On adventure days you're usually on the water or in the canyon over the middle of the day, so we carry water and snacks and eat properly in the evening. On free afternoons you eat where you like — we'll tell you where to go.
Dietary requirements are straightforward to accommodate — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal — as long as you tell us when you book so we can brief the restaurants in advance.
From the 2027 season, packages move to bed and breakfast only. Dinners will still be arranged on request, but they won't be part of the standard price.
Meet Your Guides
Every activity on every multi-day trip is led by a guide certified by both the International Rafting Federation (IRF) and HGSS, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service. They're local, they've worked this river for years, and several of them are named by guests in our Google reviews.
Damir — founder of Malduk Adventures and a rafting guide since 2003. Dado knows the Cetina better than anyone and leads all multi-day adventure programmes.
Croatia's extreme canyoning specialist. Petar has descended the Cetina canyon hundreds of times and still finds something new every time.
Grew up on the banks of the Cetina. Ante has guided over 1,000 rafting tours and knows every rapid by name. His energy is infectious.
Reviews from Multi-Day Guests
A big thank you to Dado, Eva and all the guides at Malduk Adventures for an awesome 3 days rafting, kayaking and canyoning on the Cetina River in Croatia. The whole experience was extremely well managed, professional and fun. From clear communication about pick ups, transfers and what to bring, to experienced and friendly guides who made the activities feel safe, as well as challenging. I cannot recommend Malduk Adventures enough and will definitely return.
My friend and I had an amazing 3 days thanks to the Malduk Adventure Team! The tours were incredible, the scenery stunning and the team made them all an unforgettable experience! Nothing was too big an ask and they were on hand if you needed information and advice on any aspect of our stay in Omiš. Our favorite was definitely the canyoning — 5 hours of adrenaline fueled fun with a traditional Croatian supper to end the day. Thank you to Dado, Eva and the team for keeping us safe and giving us an experience that we will never forget!
I did the 6 day hiking tour. Eva and Dado made sure I had what I needed, were great hosts and even rescued me when the day did not go as planned. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend them!
Just back from a fabulous time with Malduk Adventures. What a great team who go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. The activities were fabulous with competent and fun guides. I particularly loved the Canyoning and Rafting trips. Extreme Canyoning a buzz like no other and with the opportunity for plenty of rock jumping! As a solo traveller/adventurer I joined a group of strangers and became 'family'. Thank you Eva, Dado and team for a wonderful Croatian adventure.
We had an amazing rafting experience! Everything was very well organized from start to finish. The whole team was friendly and professional, and we felt safe and well taken care of throughout the trip. We are very grateful to Dado. He was extremely warm, friendly, and kind. Every time we think about Split, we will think of Dado. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience.
We had a fantastic time from beginning to end. We were picked up in Split and brought to Omiš without any hassle, which made the whole experience really easy and enjoyable. Our driver and the rafting guides were incredibly friendly and kind, making us feel comfortable and well looked after throughout. It was such a fun and memorable experience, and I would highly recommend it for a family trip.

Why Choose a Multi-Day Adventure Holiday in Croatia?
A multi-day trip lets you experience Croatia the way it's best experienced — slowly, actively, and immersed in nature. Instead of rushing between attractions, a multi-activity holiday combines rafting, canyoning, kayaking, hiking and local culture into one paced journey where every day brings something different.
Who Are These Adventure Holidays For?
These are genuinely small-group adventure holidays — intimate, personal, and a long way from the coach-tour experience. They suit:
- Couples looking for a nature-focused getaway
- Active groups of friends
- Solo travellers who want a safe, sociable trip
- Over-50s who take active holidays seriously
- Families with teenagers (on request — minimum age 10 for basic canyoning, 12 for extreme)

Why Our Trips Are Different
Best Time for an Adventure Holiday in Croatia
The adventure season runs April to October, and each stretch of it offers something different.
Getting to Croatia
Planning Your Croatia Adventure Holiday from the UK
Croatia is one of the easiest European adventure destinations to reach from the UK — direct flights, no visa, and a team that handles everything from the moment you land.
Split Airport (SPU) is served by direct flights from across the UK, with journey times of 2 to 2.5 hours. From Split, Omiš is 25km south — a 30-minute drive — so you can be on the Cetina or in the sea within an hour of landing. We handle the transfer, so there's no taxi negotiation or bus timetable to work out.
UK passport holders don't need a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Croatia uses the euro, and the Dalmatian coast is noticeably more affordable than comparable Mediterranean destinations in peak season.
Croatia is 1 hour ahead of UK time (CET), so there's effectively no jet lag. The adventure season runs April through October, with May–June and September giving the best combination of weather, crowd levels and river conditions.

Planning Your Croatia Adventure Holiday from the US
Croatia used to mean a long layover in Frankfurt or Munich. Since 2026 there's a nonstop from Newark straight into Split — 25km from our base, with the transfer included.
There is now a nonstop from the US to Split. United flies Newark (EWR) to Split (SPU) direct in around 8 hours 45 minutes — the first ever scheduled nonstop between the States and central Dalmatia. It's a seasonal, three-times-weekly service running from late April to early September, departing Newark in the evening and landing in Split the following morning, so you arrive with a full first day ahead of you.
From Split Airport, Omiš is 25km south — a 30-minute drive, and we collect you. If your dates fall outside the nonstop season, or you're flying from anywhere other than the New York area, you'll connect through a European hub: Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Zurich, Vienna or Istanbul all feed into Split daily through the summer. Total journey time is typically 12 to 16 hours from the East Coast and 18 to 20 from the West Coast, including the layover.
US passport holders don't need a visa for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Two things have changed recently and are worth knowing: since October 2025 the EU's Entry/Exit System takes your fingerprints and photograph at the border instead of stamping your passport, which can slow arrivals during busy periods; and ETIAS — a €20 online travel authorisation valid for three years, free for under-18s and over-70s — is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2026. It isn't a visa and takes minutes to apply for online, but once it's live you'll need it before you fly. Apply only through the official EU portal; the paid look-alike sites aren't necessary.
Croatia is six hours ahead of New York and nine ahead of California, so unlike our British guests you'll feel the time change. We'd suggest flying in a day early where you can — the trip's first day is a transfer, a swim and a group dinner rather than an activity, which absorbs some of it, but arriving rested makes the rafting day considerably more fun. For the same reason, most US guests choose the 7-day trip over the 5-day: crossing the Atlantic for four nights is a lot of flying for a short stay. Both trips include the same choice of basic or extreme canyoning, so the shorter trip doesn't mean a watered-down canyon day.
Check your health insurance before you travel. Most US domestic plans provide little or no coverage overseas, and standard travel policies frequently exclude whitewater rafting, canyoning and abseiling by name. Buy a policy that lists adventure activities explicitly — it isn't included in your trip price and we'll ask whether you have it.
✈️ Getting to Split from the US

Fly into Split (SPU), not Dubrovnik. United also runs a daily nonstop from Newark to Dubrovnik, and it's a tempting-looking alternative — but Dubrovnik is roughly a three-hour drive down the coast from Omiš, and our included transfer runs from Split. If Dubrovnik is your only option, tell us when you book and we'll quote the longer transfer separately. Connecting itineraries and seasonal schedules change — check current routings before booking.
Croatia Adventure Holidays — Frequently Asked Questions
Everything worth knowing before you book a multi-day trip with us.
Our 5-day Croatia adventure holiday starts from €600 per person and the 7-day multisport trip from €800 per person, both sharing a twin or double room. That price includes accommodation, breakfast and dinner daily, every guided activity, all equipment and return airport transfers from Split. Flights, travel insurance and lunches are extra. Comparable Croatia multi-activity trips sold by international operators typically run from around $1,150 to over $5,000 per person.
Yes. Both the 5-day and the 7-day trip run the canyoning day as either a basic or an extreme route, and you choose which one you want at the welcome dinner on day one. The group splits, so a couple or a group of friends can do different routes on the same day and meet back afterwards.
Basic is swimming, scrambling, natural slides and optional low jumps, with no ropework and no experience needed. Extreme adds two abseils — including a 60-metre descent beside the Great Gubavica waterfall — and jumps of up to nine metres. Minimum age is 10 for the basic route and 12 for extreme.
Weather is handled by rescheduling, not cancelling: if river levels, sea state or the forecast make one activity unsafe on its scheduled day, we move it to another day of your trip or swap in a comparable one, so nothing is dropped. In the rare case an activity cannot be run or replaced at all during your stay, that activity is refunded in full.
May, June and September are the best months. You get warm weather, good river levels for rafting and kayaking, and far fewer people than peak summer. September is particularly good — the sea holds its warmth and prices ease off. July and August are the peak: brilliant conditions, but busy and hot inland.
Five to seven days is ideal. The 5-day package covers rafting, canyoning and sea kayaking across three consecutive activity days — right if your leave is limited. The 7-day trip adds mountain hiking and ziplining, plus two free afternoons including one in Split's UNESCO old town. Canyoning runs as either a basic or an extreme route on both trips, so the shorter option isn't a lesser one. Both are based in Omiš, so you unpack once.
Central Dalmatia — specifically Omiš and the Cetina River. It combines accessible whitewater rafting, dramatic canyoning gorges and Adriatic sea kayaking within a 25km radius of Split Airport. It's quieter than Dubrovnik and far more active than the islands, and it's the only place in Croatia where you can do river, canyon, sea and mountain from a single base.
In Omiš, for the whole trip — no moving hotels. Our base is at Put Svetog Stipana 2, Borak, Omiš. Accommodation is locally owned rather than chain-branded, with twin or double rooms, private bathrooms, air conditioning and Wi-Fi, all within walking distance of the beach and the old town. Solo travellers get their own room; the single supplement is from €100.
For the 2026 season, breakfast and dinner every day. Breakfast is at your accommodation; dinner is at local restaurants in and around Omiš. Lunch isn't included, because on activity days you're usually on the water in the middle of the day — we carry water and snacks. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal diets are catered for with advance notice. From the 2027 season, packages become bed and breakfast only.
Yes. Every activity is designed for all ability levels including complete beginners, and each one starts with a full briefing from an HGSS-certified guide. The canyoning day has a basic route with no ropework for anyone who'd rather not abseil. Groups are capped at 12 so nobody gets left behind. The only real requirement is a reasonable level of fitness — you should be comfortable with three to five active days and a moderate uphill walk.
Moderately fit is enough. If you can walk for three hours over uneven ground and swim confidently in open water, you'll manage everything on both trips. The canyoning day involves scrambling and swimming; the hiking day on the 7-day trip is a steady climb rather than anything technical. Guides adjust pace to the group, and there's always an easier option on the jumps.
Around 2 to 2.5 hours to Split Airport (SPU). Direct routes run from London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and Leeds Bradford with easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2, British Airways and TUI. Most UK travellers reach Omiš in under six hours door to door.
Croatia is mid-range compared with Western Europe — generally cheaper than Italy, France or the UK. Our multi-day packages cover accommodation, meals, activities and transfers in one price, so there are no hidden extras once you arrive. Booking direct rather than through an agency typically saves 15–20% against the same trip.
Split, and specifically Omiš just south of it. The Cetina River and the Dalmatian mountains are within 30 minutes, so rafting, canyoning, kayaking and hiking all sit on the doorstep. Dubrovnik is a spectacular city but has far fewer adventure options, costs more, and is significantly more crowded in summer.
Yes. United flies nonstop from Newark (EWR) to Split (SPU) in around 8 hours 45 minutes — the first scheduled nonstop between the US and central Dalmatia, introduced for the 2026 season. It's seasonal and runs three times a week from late April to early September. Outside those dates, or from any other US city, you connect through a European hub such as Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Paris or Istanbul, which puts most East Coast journeys at 12 to 16 hours door to door and West Coast journeys at 18 to 20. Fly into Split rather than Dubrovnik — Dubrovnik is about a three-hour drive from Omiš, and the transfer included in your trip runs from Split, 25km away.
US citizens don't need a visa for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Two recent changes matter: since October 2025 the EU's Entry/Exit System records fingerprints and a photograph at the border rather than stamping your passport, so allow extra time at your first point of entry into Europe; and ETIAS, a €20 online travel authorisation valid for three years and free for travellers under 18 or over 70, is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2026. ETIAS is not a visa and approval usually takes minutes, but once the system is live you'll need it before you fly. Apply through the official EU portal rather than a third-party site.
